SETUP – FULL DENTURES IN PHYSIOLOGICAL OCCLUSION

HANDS-ON-COURSE

About the course

The focus is on learning, refreshing and expanding the basic principles of tooth placement in toothto- two-tooth occlusion for full dentures. Based on models of finished patient cases, the systematics from the model analysis through to the placement of the last occlusally loadable tooth are imparted, including simple techniques for self-checks in everyday routines. The systematic correction of the occlusion into centric and eccentric follows after complete tooth placement. And finally, the design of the gingiva and alveolar jaw sections is modeled in wax according to myodynamic aspects.

COURSE OBJECTIVE

Elaboration of the basics for the functionality of full denture restoration as well as the principle of the physiological tooth-to-two-tooth relationship in static and dynamic occlusion. Understanding and applying the model analysis as a »blueprint« for a statically stable tooth setup to guarantee the autonomous chewing stability of the posterior teeth and to be able to perform an efficient (self) check of the tooth positions in everyday routines. Setting up the anterior teeth in wax according to average, anatomical references and (depending on the case to be treated) patient-related data. Setup of the posterior teeth according to static principles based on the self-performed model analysis. Application of the developed rules for static and dynamic occlusion after complete setup. Learning and applying the design principles of papillae, tooth neck and artificial alveolar modeling as well as the »musculargripping «, myodynamic prosthesis body design in wax.
